I'm a businessman in a labour market You're the labour, and I'm your market The customer is always right With the money first, I'm as wrong as I like! The mark that really counts Is A for effort - not for results Your hard work should keep you down As my money piles up in the corporate account Do what I say when I'm for sure wrong So all that work gonna get nothin' done The mark that really counts Is A for effort - not for results Now it's your turn! Sing a little song Try to make sport of every petty thing wrong Call it all positive, and your honest pal a drag When bossman say: "Jump, ya little f@&!" Say: "How high? Can't complain! Livin' the dream!" Run in tight circles and take it for the team Look happy! Look busy! Just business! Please understand! Sign up for some spam of commercials from the Man The mark that really counts Is A for effort - not for results Not for results - not for results

Today is a day I prayed would never come I'm so grateful it's over and done I wanna thank you for loosening your grasp Thank you for mercy, it's all I could ask What you impose is all justified I don't mean to change you, but we're all out of time If I'm ever gonna see as far as you do You're gonna have to stand aside and let me through All you ever wanted was to stay a step ahead But you finally realised that it's just in your head I wanna thank you for loosening your grasp Thank you for mercy, it's all I could ask Thank you for mercy, thank you for mercy Thank you for mercy, it's all I could ask

A Long Song 02:50
The best I have today Are things I think you'd say If you could see yourself through my eyes And hear the delight of your surprise And the words you make me hear When I listen for a tune Too soon become my song A little trip that turns out too long From either side, in and out Till I'm never alone And the song's just about Conversations on the phone And this song's just about That phone that never needs to ring That phone where all we do is sing Though we knew, we never had to find out And I can't say I know for sure 'Cos you wrote down different words To a different tune in the same time What I said wasn't quite what you heard And what you say checks out Quite well where I'm concerned But I filled in many words, unsure When you were gone, if our time was up And those became this song And this became our song A song that's just beginning to take up The time we've got left over to make up - to make up - to make up

They say I'm in a cult They say I'm in a cult They say I'm in a cult They say I'm in a cult They say I'm in a cult 'cos they can't do without me, and they're tryin' to make it seem my fault But it ain't none of their business Ain't none of their business What's my own business Ain't none of their business And if they want my business, they can start by sayin' somethin' nice about what they don't know They say I'm doin' coke They say I'm doin' coke They say I'm doin' coke now They say I'm doin' coke If what they mean is Coca-Cola I done gone and kicked that habit twenty years ago But it ain't none of their business Ain't none of their business What's my own business Ain't none of their business And if they want my business, they can start by sayin' somethin' nice about what they don't know They say I'm doin' crack They say I'm doin' crack They say I'm doin' crack now They say I'm doin' crack They say I'm doin' crack, but I can't think of any kind of crack I've had for oh so long But it ain't none of their business Ain't none of their business What's my own business Ain't none of their business And if they want my business, they can start by sayin' somethin' nice about what they don't know They say I'm in a cult They say I'm in a cult They say I'm in a cult They say I'm in a cult They say I'm in a cult 'cos they can't do without me, and they're tryin' to make it seem my fault But it ain't none of their business Ain't none of their business What's my own business Ain't none of their business And if they want my business, they can start by sayin' somethin' nice about what they don't know

Throw Away 05:42
At every evening's ending I remember how it seemed That you and I would be together any day As that time drew nearer, it only became clearer That - we would always go our separate ways At night the snow is glistening, and only the walls are listening, And you, when I see you in my dreams You show me all I have, and then you show me all that I've Thrown away, thrown away Scientific reasoning can't discern the reasons Why our hearts will run blind into a wall You left on a plane that day, I never see you anyway It's better than the hell inside a mall With part of me inside you, I watched you fly away, away The economic leaders climbed aboard a silver Seed and blasted off into the sky They took their money with them, and all their gold computers, And never even thought to wave goodbye I might try to find you, maybe we could make it work Now that none of them are around It might be a better place now that they've gone Away - Go away - Run away - Stay away!

So fearful of falling and catcalling Tearful of fracture and bending your back, you're Tired of decisions, a life without living Your dreams left you drained, you chased them - they changed For a change don't decide, don't make up your mind Just come for the ride, come with me and get high Take your ticket with you, we could end up different places Different destinations, so come with me, 'cos we should be Up in the sky at around the same time You'll never know half of who I am I'll make sure things remain that way Just like you'll never see half the woman I see you are, and that's how it'll stay For a change don't decide, don't make up your mind Just come for the ride, come with me and get high Take your ticket with you, we could end up different places Different destinations, so come with me, 'cos we should be Up in the sky at around the same time To fly with angels takes two - to fly with dreams, maybe more But high with me you'll go through where all were barriers before Disillusionment so sweet, you won't forget me too soon Swingin' our hips to the beat of an unregrettable tune For a change don't decide, don't make up your mind Just come for the ride, come with me and get high Take your ticket with you, we could end up different places Different destinations, so come with me, 'cos we should be Up in the sky at around the same time

Impatiens 02:22
All that you said, it ran right over me Just like the ground beneath my feet Runs to the river right down to the sea With impatiens up above - our world is up above I know in your heart there is a place for me Just like the tree dispels the rain Under the leaves is where the birds will be 'Cos we did it out of love - did it out of love - did it out of love All that you said, it ran right over me Just like the tree dispels the rain You know that is my whole philosophy 'Cos we did it out of love - did it out of love - did it out of love With impatiens up above - our world is up above - 'cos we did it out of love - did it out of love - did it out of love - did it out of love - did it out of love - did it out of love With impatiens up above - our world is up above - 'cos we did it out of love -
